Bo is a 17-year-old senior at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee. He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and cut his teeth as a player as part of the Jenks football program from fourth grade through ninth grade, when he started both ways for his middle school team.
Bo arrived in Nashville halfway through his freshman year. He immediately made varsity track and was a top performer in the 110 and 300 m. hurdles, the 4 x 400, and the high jump. He qualified for the Tennessee state meet as a freshman in the high jump at 6’4”. His sophomore year he qualified for state in the high jump (a personal best of 6’6” in non-sanctioned competition; 6’4” in state meet), the 110 and 300 hurdles, the long jump, and the decathlon. On the latter, his track coach, Olympian Gary Kinder, taught him the pole vault and the full ten events just one month before the state qualifying regional event. Bo placed third at the regional meet, his first competitive decathlon, qualifying for state.
He’s now begun his junior year of track and early highlights have him at 6’7” in the high jump and 14.74 in the 110 hurdles with Regionals and State ahead.
Track Update: * In his 3rd ever decathlon, Bo finished 3rd in the state of Tennessee; * After a month of work, in his 4th ever decathlon, Bo finished 2nd in the AAU National Club championships in the 'Young Men's' decathlon, qualifying for the Junior Olympics.
Bo started all 15 games as a sophomore for the Ravenwood Raptor football team that went to the state championship game in Tennessee’s largest division. He played “bandit” and was third on the team in tackles. He also had significant playing time as a wide receiver. This season, his junior year, he started both ways: he moved to safety the third game of the season but was still the second leading tackler on the Raptor team. Bo was Murphy Fair’s Player of the Week for the State of Tennessee after the Franklin game. He was named first team defense as an “athlete” in Middle Tennessee, the only junior on he squad.
